Setting Up Email

2

Verify Your Address

Pro tip: Always choose "Keep a copy" when setting up forwarding. This ensures you have a backup of all emails in your original inbox.

Step 2: Verify Your Address

If you connected your email via Gmail, this step is not needed as verification is automatic.

After forwarding is working, you need to verify your address so Jelly can send emails from it. There are two verification methods:

Option A: Email Verification (Easier)

Best for individual email addresses like support@yourcompany.com

  1. In Email Setup, click "Verify Address"
  2. Choose "Email Verification"
  3. Jelly sends a verification code to your address
  4. Forward that email to Jelly (it should arrive automatically)
  5. Click the verification link in the email
  6. Your address is now verified!

Option B: Domain Verification (Advanced)

Best for verifying an entire domain (all addresses @yourcompany.com)

  1. In Email Setup, click "Verify Address"
  2. Choose "Domain Verification"
  3. Add the provided DNS records to your domain:

Required DNS Records:

Type Name Value
TXT your unique hostname [Unique verification code]
CNAME jelly-bounces via.letsjelly.com
  1. Wait for DNS propagation (this can be really fast, but sometimes takes a few minutes)
  2. Click "Verify Domain" in Jelly
  3. All addresses at your domain are now verified!

Testing Your Setup

Once both forwarding and verification are complete, test your setup:

  1. Test Incoming: Send an email to your team address from an external account
  2. It should appear in Jelly within seconds
  3. Test Outgoing: Reply to that test message from Jelly
  4. Check that the reply arrives with the correct "From" address

โœ… Setup Complete!

When both tests pass, your email is fully configured. Your team can now:

  • Receive all emails sent to your team address
  • Reply from that same address
  • See all conversations in one shared inbox
  • Collaborate with comments and assignments

Multiple Email Addresses

Need to manage multiple team emails? Jelly supports unlimited addresses:

  • Add addresses like support@, hello@, info@, sales@
  • Each address has its own forwarding setup
  • Team members can choose which address to reply from
  • Use labels and rules to organize different addresses

To add another address, repeat the setup process for each one.
